Top 7 things to know about the Lenovo K8 Note
After acquiring Motorola, Lenovo has stepped up their game and is the only brand which is giving tough competition to Xiaomi.
After launching the Vibe K6 Note, fans were expecting that the company would be coming with the K7 Note by the start of 2018, however, to everyone’s surprise, the company rather launching the K7 Note came up with K8 Note.
Lenovo was teasing the smartphone since last month and finally a couple of days ago it was launched in India.
As of now, the K8 Note will be exclusively available on Amazon, and the sale will start from next Friday.
The company has priced the device at 13K and 13K, the 13K variant comes with 32 GB of ROM and 3 GB of RAM, whereas the higher variant comes with 64 GB of RAM and 4 GB of ROM.
The K8 Note is first being launched in India in comparison to other countries. And with the Moto G5S to be launched by the end of August, it will great to see how Lenovo prices the device in the Indian market.
So, if you are planning to buy this device, then here are the top 7 to know about the Lenovo K8 Note.
#7. Dedicated MicroSD slot
One of the things which you should know about the device is that the smartphone does come with a dedicated micro SD card slot. Now that’s something which neither the K5 Note or the K6 Note had.
Even though you do get a 64GB variant model, you can still expand the memory up to 128 GB by using a dedicated micro SD card slot.
#6. Android O Update
Out of the box, the Lenovo K8 Note runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) OS, and the company hasn’t used their custom Vibe UI on this device so you get the stock Android UI.
The company has also stated that the K8 will receive regular security patches every three months, but they haven’t mentioned any specific time frame up to which they will be sending these security patches.
And another thing to know about the the Lenovo K8 Note is that the device will be getting the Android O Update, so if you are looking for the latest smartphone that comes with latest Android OS and also be getting the Android O update then Lenovo has the perfect product for you.
#5. Dolby ATMOS support
During the launch event, Lenovo kept on saying that this smartphone is a multimedia beast and comes with a lot of handy features, for example; the dedicated music key.
Like its predecessors, the K8 Note too comes with DOLBY ATMOS support but sadly the K8 Note comes with a single speaker which is really disappointing. Although the sound output from the single speaker is decent and loud enough but still having DOLBY ATMOS support, Lenovo should have put another stereo speakers.
#4. Gaming Performance
The Vibe K6 Note was very good at gaming despite packing a Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, now again, with the K8 Note, Lenovo has gone with a MediaTek chipset.
Nonetheless, this time they have gone with a powerful Deca-core MediaTek Helio X23 processor, alongside you also get 3 / 4 GB of RAM and a Mali-T860 MP4 GPU.
The configuration looks very solid on paper and in real life also the device delivers, games like Asphalt 8, Dead Trigger 2, Modern Combat 5, runs on this device smoothly without generating any kind of shutters or hiccups during the gameplay.
#3. Battery life
All the mid-range smartphones that Lenovo launched this year had a massive battery, and as they say ‘a bigger battery means better battery life’. Well, with the K8 Note, you get to see the same thing.
Similar to the K6 Note and k6 Power, the K8 also features the same 4000 mAh battery but now along with the sealed battery, you also get a 15W Turbo charger, which before used to be only available with Motorola branded smartphones.
The Turbo Charger will be able to charge up the device within 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes.
#2. Powerful Hardware
The K8 Note has to be one of the hottest mid-range smartphones available in the market, and of the reason behind is the hardware configuration. The K8 Note comes in two variants.
The solid device comes with a MediaTek Helio X23 deca-core processor, which is divided into three parts; the first four quad-cores are clocked at 1.4 GHz, the second quad-core is clocked at 1.8 GHz, and the last two cores being the most powerful ones are clocked at 2.3 GHz based on A72 architectures.
The RAM management of the device is extremely good, apps stay in memory, however, there are times when you will face some heating issues. And the temperature can easily reach up to 40 degree Celsius.
Along with the processor, you also get 3 / 4 GB of DDR4 RAM, a Mali-T860 MP4 GPU, so when it comes to multitasking the K8 Note is truly a killer smartphone.
#1. Camera
If there was one aspect of the phone which made it stand out from other K series smart phone then that has to be the camera setup of the device.
The K8 Note comes with a dual rear camera setup, along with the 13 MP camera, you also get a 5 MP camera, which will help you get some brilliant looking pictures with bouquet effects, the rear camera is having a f/1.7 aperture.
Moving on, at the front also, you get a 13 MP camera with a LED flash, which let you take some really good selfies with a good amount of detailing, you also get HDR, and pro mode in the front camera interface which is really cool.
Overall, the rear camera produces some good images but if we compare the camera against the likes of Moto G5 Plus and Honor 6X, then the K8 Note falls behind, but Lenovo has already sent an update which is basically a camera update, which may help in improving the camera quality.
So, let’s see how much improvement can Lenovo do with their software updates. Regardless of that the K8 Note is truly a budget killer smartphone and is the best K series smartphone launched by the company till this date.

Lenovo K8 Note, one of the most waited Lenovo K series smartphone K8 Note. This phone is good & I really like such a wonderful features but one thing that I din’t like much, That’s this phone doesn’t have micro sd card option.
I personally think, Lenovo K8 Note should have micro sd card option as Lenovo K4 Note has.
