Top 7 things to know about the Coolpad Note 5
Last month Coolpad came up with a brand new budget smartphone, the Coolpad Note 5, although, we were expecting the Note 4, however, there is no official statement as to why they have skipped the Note 4. Anyway looking at the trend, we were pretty excited about the Note 5, and the main reason is the price to performance, and Coolpad has always excelled in it, from the Note 3 to Mega 2.5 D, Coolpad has always been able to bring some high-end specs in their smartphone at a decent price. Fast forward, yesterday, the device was finally launched in India and will be exclusively available on Amazon from 20th October. So, if you are looking forward to buying this device then you might wanna read this post as we are going to mention the top 7 things which you should definitely know about the Coolpad Note 5.
So, here are top 7 things to know about the Coolpad Note 5
As we all know about the competition that has going on in the budget segment, from Xiaomi to Lenovo, every smartphone brand is trying to bring in smartphones that feature a giant battery and the same thing has been done by Coolpad, as a result the Coolpad boast a 4010 mAh non-removable battery, which can easily give 2-3 days of usage depending on the usage.
2.Display & Design
Like the Coolpad Note 3 Lite, the Coolpad Note 5 also features a full HD IPS display having a resolution of (1080 x 1920 p), the display also comes with a scratch resistant glass, even though, Coolpad haven’t confirmed what kind of kind scratch resistant they have used on their Note 5. When it comes to screen quality, the display looks vivid, the viewing angles are also good but not that great. And like most of the smartphones in this segment, the Coolpad Note 5 also comes with a metal body with 2.5 D curved glass.
The device also comes with a fingerprint sensor, which has been placed right below the rear camera, as far as accuracy is concerned, the fingerprint sensor is accurate and unlocks the device under 0.5 seconds, furthermore, Coolpad has also added some gesture features in it.
The rear of the Note 5 gets a 13 MP camera along with a LED flash, and at the front, there is a 8 MP camera which also comes with a LED flash, however, the camera quality isn’t that great and in fact Coolpad doesn’t have a good reputation of offering a good set of cameras in their smartphones, the only bonus feature is the front LED flash which lets you take good selfies in low lighting conditions.
5.Hardware & Storage
Coolpad has always gone with a Mediatek processor, but due to some reason, they have used a Snapdragon chipset in the Note 5. And because of it, the Note 5 houses a Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor, which is quite depressing as other devices in this segment features a powerful Snapdragon 652 processor. And on top of it, the device also features 4 Gigs of RAM, so doing heavy multitasking on this device will not be a big issue. The Note 5 also comes with a 32 GB of internal memory, so storage will not be a big concern for those who tends to store a lot of apps.
Coolpad’s custom UI i.e. Cool UI might not be regarded as one of the best & stable Android skin, however, the company has done some improvement in the Cool UI 8.0. Like the Coolpad Max, the Coolpad Note 5 also comes with a Dual App feature, which means that you will be able to have two accounts on your smartphone, so you will be able to use Facebook, Whatsapp, Hike using two accounts simultaneously.
The Coolpad Note 3 is still regarded as one of the best gaming smartphones and we were hoping that Coolpad might have might have pulled the same thing with the Note 5, however, sadly, the Note 5 comes with an Adreno 405 GPU so the gaming performance of this device is not that great.
