Back in May, Coolpad launched a new device in the budget segment, the Note 3 Plus, the Note 3 is basically an upgraded version of last year’s Coolpad Note 3, other than featuring the fingerprint sensor, the device is currently priced at Rs 8,499, and the reason behind this price cut is the launch of the new Coolpad Note 5. The device is available in India via Amazon. Coolpad launched this device so that they could still hold up in the competition, which is currently being dominated by the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. Now, regarding the Coolpad Note 3 Plus, we are going to tell you the 7 things which you should know about it.
So, here are the 7 things which you should know about the Coolpad Note 3 Plus:-
As we saw with the Coolpad Note 3, the Note 3 Plus also features the same fingerprint sensor placed right below the rear camera, when it comes to reliability & accuracy, like the Note 3’s fingerprint sensor, the Note 3’s Plus fingerprint sensor also works pretty well, when used, it unlocks the device well under 1 second.
Under the hood, the Note 3 Plus packs the same MediaTek 6753 octa-core processor coupled with 3 GB of RAM, which gives you the freedom of doing heavy multi-tasking without any kind of laginess. However, you might notice some laginess while jumping in and out of heavy apps simultaneously.
When it comes to gaming, then without a doubt it can be regarded as one of the best gaming device available in the low-budget segment. While playing moderate games like Doodle Army 2, Brother in Arms 2, Riptide GP 2, etc, you will not notice many shutters, however, the scenario changes a bit when you try to play games like Asphalt 8, Modern Combat 5. While playing these games you might notice continuous shutters if you play these games on the highest graphics settings.
If you are gamer or someone who likes to store quite a lot of apps on their smartphone, and If you think 16 GB of internal memory isn’t enough then you might like this device, as it gives you the freedom of storing apps on the microSD card, so if you want to, you can also install apps directly to the microSD card, all you have to do this change the default storage option.
Powering the device is a 3000 mAh non-removable battery, comparing it to the Note 3, the battery backup of the Coolpad Note 3 Plus is quite low, although, if you are a moderate user, you will easily get 1-2 days of usage period. The bad news is for the heavy users, as it features a 1080p display the battery drains a bit faster, so you may need to charge the device by the end of the day.
This is something we really hoped Coolpad would fix, but sadly, they haven’t, while playing heavy games the device tends to heat up quite faster than it normally does, and under normal temperature the device can easily touch temperature of 44-47 degree celsius, and what’s strange is that the front of the device gets much warmer than the back panel.
The Note 3 Plus is equipped with a 13 MP rear & 5 MP front-facing camera, which is the same set of cameras Coolpad have used in the Note 3, however, they have done some minor improvement, as a result pictures taken from both the rear & front cameras tends to be bit brighter & sharper, but in low-light, the front camera tends to fade away.
