2015 was an exciting year for the smartphone company Asus, from launching the world’s first smartphone to have 4 GB of RAM, to launching the world’s first budget smartphone to have a laser autofocus system, the company has done a great job. Now last year in December, Asus showed one of its upcoming devices, the Zenfone Zoom, the device is basically camera centered point & shoot device. One of the highlighting part of the Zenfone Zoom is that, although the camera has a 3x optical zoom, all the zooming is done internally, as a reason you won’t see any kind of physical movement, and it is also the reason why Asus has been calling the Zenfone Zoom as the world’s slimmest smartphone to have a 3x optical Zoom. So, in this post, we are going to tell you the 7 things which you should know about the new upcoming Asus Zenfone Zoom.
So, here are top 7 things which you must know about the Zenfone Zoom-
The device packs the same kind of hardware as we have seen in the Zenfone 2. Under the hood, it has a 2.5 GHz GHz Intel Atom Quad-core processor coupled with 4 GB of RAM, so multitasking won’t be an issue because this is simply a beast.
Asus has really done some improvement in the camera department, and the Zenfone Zoom stands out to be a good example of it. At the rear of the device is a 13 MP autofocus camera, which is getting assisted by a laser autofocus, 3x optical zoom, and a dual-tone LED flash, & OIS, so you can easily zoom in on objects without losing any kind details, other than that, the OIS and the dual-tone LED flash really helps in capturing good quality images in low-light conditions. There is also a 5 MP front facing camera having a wide angle lens for selfies, which also does a pretty good job.
3.Improved battery life
Another good thing about the Zenfone Zoom is that the 3000 mAh battery placed at the back has been also improved, so when it comes to usage for the device can easily last a full working day before running out of juice .
The Zenfone Zoom sports a 5.5 inch IPS grade screen, offering a resolution of (1080×1920 p), the texts looks sharp & crisp, but the display struggles in bright sunlight, so you will struggle to read the texts if you are under direct sunlight. The screen also gets a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, which protects the display from getting any kind of scratches.
Asus has also improved the camera interface, other than having various modes, the new interface also offers features like OIS, super resolution mode, which allows you click on pictures up to 52 MP, a pro mode which gives you the freedom of adjusting options like ISO, shutter speed, brightness, etc manually. Asus also claims that the camera interface will give you a DSLR kind of experience. Apart from this, the Zenfone Zoom don’t support 4K recording which is really disappointing for a high-end camera centered smartphone.
Like the Zenfone 2, the Zenfone Zoom is also a demon when it comes to gaming, the device can easily handle high-end games like Nova 3,Asphalt 8,Dead Trigger 2, etc with ease, so when it comes to gaming, it is one of the best devices you will find on the market.
7.Connectivity features missing
Connectivity features like IR, NFC are missing on the Zenfone Zoom, which is a kind of a setback for any high-end device which comes with a price tag of Rs 37K.
