OnePlus has finally unveiled their flagship smartphone; the OnePlus 5. The device will be exclusively available on Amazon.in, and the sale will begin from 22nd June.
OnePlus has become one of the most recognizable brands which have made a huge impact on the smartphone industry. Much like Xiaomi, OnePlus is made a name for themselves by offering high-end specs on a smartphone at a cheaper price.
And, that has been the reason for their success over the past few years. However, OnePlus has been increasing their flagship device price every year. As a result, the new OnePlus 5 has been priced around 33K & 37K.
Anyway, the device sure does feature high-end specs, and costs less than other devices on the market that feature similar hardware configuration. So, if you are thinking of getting the device, then please do read this post, as we are going to mention the top 7 things which you must know about the new OnePlus 5.
T The device will be available in two variants; the lower variant will feature 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM, whereas, the high-end model will feature 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of ROM. However, you will not be getting a microSD card slot, although, there is support for two nano sims, OnePlus didn’t give any option for expanding the memory.
#6. Sleek Design
The major talking point of the OnePlus was its design, and the company has been keen in doing refinements in their smartphone design. Out of all the smartphones that OnePlus has ever launched, the OnePlus 5 feels much lighter, and courtesy of the curved back panel, the device feels great in hand.
However, anyone could guess that OnePlus has taken some design queues from Apple, the back will make you remind of the iPhone 7 Plus. But, one thing which they would be appreciated for shifting the antenna lines, due to which it become less visible.
Another area in which OnePlus has done significant improvement is the fingerprint sensor, with the OnePlus 5, you still get the fingerprint sensor at the front, but this time it’s covered by a ceramic body, which protects from getting scratches.
As per as the fingerprint sensor is concerned, it definitely has to be one the fastest fingerprint you’ll find on any latest smartphone.
Although the device price has been hiked up, there are some aspects of the smartphone which will disappoint you.
For example, the display of the OnePlus 5 is once again a Full-HD display, at this price range, smartphones are available with a quad-HD display, but OnePlus has kept the display resolution up to full HD.
However, if you are someone who hasn’t used quad-HD display smartphone, then you will not be disappointed with the display at all, the device comes with an Optic AMOLED screen, so the color reproduction, viewing angles are pretty great.
Even in outdoor, you won’t have any issues regarding the screen visibility.
The hardware has always been OnePlus’s smartphones USP, and the OnePlus 5 is no exception. The OnePlus 5 comes with the latest Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor; the first four cores are clocked at 2.45 GHz, whereas, the last four cores are clocked at 1.9 GHz.
Alongside, this powerful processor you also get 6/8 GB of RAM, and an Adreno 540 GPU, therefore, if you are into gaming, then the OnePlus 5 is the best cheapest gaming device out there market.
The smartphone itself is freakishly fast, hundreds of apps stay in the memory, therefore, you don’t have to wait for the apps to get reloaded. The OnePlus done a great job with the memory management of the device.
#3. Enhanced UI
One of the reasons why OnePlus smartphones are loved by many is because of their support and latest configuration which you get on their smartphones.
The OnePlus 5 runs on the latest version of the Oxygen UI, which is built on top of the latest Android v 7.1.1 (Nougat) OS.
OnePlus has done some good improvements with the UI, as a result, you get some tweaked option which makes using the device much easier and simpler.
In comparison to the OnePlus 3T, the battery size of the OnePlus 5 has been reduced, now you get a smaller 3300 mAh battery.
Despite shrinking the battery, you still get a good battery life, on a full charge, the battery can easily give you a full day of usage. And, courtesy of the Dash charging, you will be able to charge the device from 0-60 % within 30 minutes, so the small battery charge won’t border you much.
The major talking as mentioned before of the OnePlus 5 is the dual camera setup. From high-end devices to low-end devices, dual-camera setup smartphones are getting very popular.
Nevertheless, the dual-camera setup of the OnePlus 5 comes with a twist, the primary camera is a 16 MP camera, whereas the secondary camera is a 20 MP shooter, so the secondary camera has more resolution than the primary.
The primary 16 MP shooter comes with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) with a f/1.7 aperture, whereas the secondary 20 MP comes with smaller f/2.6 aperture.
The secondary 20 MP telephoto camera lets you zoom on objects and takes snaps without losing the quality, however, due to lack of OIS, pictures, and videos tends to be blurry and shaky.
At the front, you get a 16 MP shooter, which is more than enough for taking selfies, however, the front camera quality is not that in comparison to the rear cameras.
So, these were the top 7 things which you should know about the latest OnePlus 5.
