Earlier this month, Intex launched a new device in the market, which is the new Aqua Ace; it is the most powerful & expensive device from Intex till date.The Aqua Ace sits with a price tag of Rs 12,999 in online stores. The new Aqua Ace comes with a 5.0-inch screen having a Super AMOLED display, at the heart of the device there is a Mediatek 6735 quad-core processor,which is getting assisted by 3 GB of RAM. Coming to the camera, there is a 13 MP rear facing camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera, and at the back, there is a 2300 mAh battery. So, let’s see what the Intex Aqua Ace has to offer.
The Aqua Ace is a 4G enabled dual-sim device,it runs on Android v5.1 (Lollipop), it has a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor paired with 3 GB of RAM , the device has 16 GB of internal memory, for gaming it has a Mali-T720 GPU. The device feels very light in hands, as it only weighs 121 g. Looking at the box contents, with the Aqua Ace you will get a travel charger, a USB data cable for charging and data transfer, an in-ear type headset of good quality, a sim ejector tool,a screen guard, and a window flip cover. Coming to the battery, it has a 2300 mAh battery which is sealed inside.
Display & Design
The Aqua Ace sports a 5.0-inch screen having Samsung’s Super AMOLED display, offering a screen resolution of (720×1280 p), the screen does have nice viewing angles. The display is having a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. When it comes to design, the device pretty much looks like the Aqua Power Plus, the plastic edges gives the device a premium look, on the right-hand side you’ll get the three buttons, along with the sim tray, at the right-hand side there is an another tray for the microSD card,and on the top you’ll find the 3.5 mm audio jack along with the micro-USB port. The speaker has been moved at the bottom along with the main microphone.
O.S & Interface
The Aqua Ace runs on Android v5.1 (Lollipop) , and on top it, it runs on a custom UI, which basically looks like the normal stock android interface.
Hardware & Storage
The Aqua Ace is getting powered by a 64 bit MediaTek 6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, which is getting assisted by 3 GB of RAM, out of that, you will get around 2 GB of RAM free, so you can enjoy heavy multi-tasking without any kind of laginess. The device packs a Mali-T720MP2 GPU when you play casual games you won’t face any kind of issues, but when you play games like Asphalt 8, Frontline Commando 2, etc, you will notice regular frame drops and some heating issue.
Coming to the storage, the Aqua Ace has a 16 GB of internal memory, out of which you’ll get around 10 GB free, the memory can be expanded up to 128 GB using a microSD card, and the good thing is that apps can also be installed directly to the microSD card.
The Aqua Ace is having a 13 MP rear facing camera supported by a LED flash, and at the front, there is a 5 MP camera. The camera app comes with the basic functions and modes. Both the camera takes good quality pictures in good lighting conditions, but when you try to take pictures in low lighting conditions,the pictures comes out to be really blurry and noisy. Overall, the camera performance is not that good.
Network & Connectivity
The Aqua Ace supports 4G on both the sim slots other than 3G and 2G. It also packs all the common connectivity options like Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-fi, USB OTG, etc.
Giving the device life is a 2300 nonremovable battery. When it comes to usage, then it doesn’t give you a good backup. For a moderate user, the device will last the whole working day, but for a heavy user, the device will last for almost 6-8 hours before running out of juice.
Intex has finally brought a good value for money smartphone in the market, but when you look at the competition, then the Aqua Ace just doesn’t match up with the other competitors available in this price segment.
