How to enable Cortana in your Windows 8.1 phone
Most of you have heard of Apple Iphone’s voice assistant ‘Siri’, Google Android’s voice assistant ‘Google Now’, so to make things even Microsoft last year came up with its own personal voice assistant ‘Cortana’ for its Windows 8.1 phones. When it comes to overall performance Cortana does gets the edge against Siri and Google now. Due to its success, Microsoft also added Cortana to its new Windows 10 O.S.
As of now,Cortana is available in all Windows 8.1 powered phones ,but if you are in India, and you are using a Windows 8.1 smartphone,then won’t able to use Cortana.But after reading this post you will know how to enable Cortana in your Windows 8.1 phone.For the first time when you tap on Cortana, you will see the following message :
So to know how to enable Cortana in your Windows 8.1 phone you follow the following steps –
Step 1 -To enable Cortana in your device swipe to settings, swipe again to go to the application , tap on Cortana then turns it on.
Step 2 – Make sure you have a Wifi connection on.
Step 3 – Now go to Settings -> Speech
Step 4 – Now tap on Speech-language and select English(United kingdom), now if it is already downloaded then turn off your wifi , but if it is not downloaded then tap on it to download .
Step 5 – After the download is complete, go back and tap on Cortana and you are done.
Now, to check you can ask her the following stuff –
- Set a reminder
- Call ( person name)
- Set an alarm
- Is it going to rain today?
- Play a song or ( song name)
