Fast forward, today finally Xiaomi unveiled its first ever budget oriented dual-camera smartphone; Mi A1. The device is a special one from Xiaomi and there are a lot of reasons which makes it different from the rest of the smartphones that Xiaomi has launched so far in India.
Xiaomi has launched this smartphone globally, but for Indian fans, the device will go on sale from September 12 and will be a Flipkart exclusive which has started getting common now.
Now, if you want to know what are the features and top things about the Xiaomi Mi A1, then please do keep on reading.
So, here are the top things which you should know about the Xiaomi Mi A1(aka Mi 5X):-
#USB Type C port
This has to one of the top features of the latest Mi A1, but there is a twist. The charger which you get with this device is a 5-volt charger, so even though, you are getting a USB Type C charger, but unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a fast charger.
Now before you get disappointed, here’s what you should know, the Mi A1 doesn’t support fast charging so even if doesn’t come with a fast charger, you can definitely get one from online stores or offline market.
This is another thing which you should know about the Mi A1 because nowadays there are many smartphones which come with physical buttons but they aren’t backlit, well, with the Mi A1 you will not have any kind of complaints as the three buttons are backlit.
For almost everyone gaming performance does indeed matter a lot, well bless yourself as the Snapdragon 625’s GPU Adreno 506 GPU does handle the almost every games pretty well.
Games like Riptide GP2, Modern Combat 5, Nova 3, NFS, etc. can be played on this device without facing any kind of jitters or frame drops, and the 1080p panel makes it even better.
Smartphone with heating issues isn’t uncommon anymore, and Snapdragon chipsets have a fair share of a list.
However, with the Mi A1 (aka Mi 5X), you will have to deal with any kind of overheating issues, yes while playing games, the temperature may jump up to 40 degrees Celcius but the good thing is that it doesn’t overheat.
As mentioned before, the Mi A1 stands out of the other Xiaomi devices, and that also implies in the variant. Unlike the other Xiaomi devices, the Mi A1 comes in only one variant having 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of ROM that costs Rs. 14,999.
#Hybrid slim slot
Xiaomi has done much about when it comes to slim and memory slots, so with the Mi A1 also you get a hybrid slot, so either you can use two Nano sim or either one Nano sim and one microSD card.
The good thing is that the devices come with 64 GB of internal memory, however, if you are someone who stores a lot of data on their smartphones than the Mi A1 isn’t a good option for you.
If there is one thing annoying about the Xiaomi Mi A1 then that has to be the availability, the Mi A1 will be available via Flipkart and will be sold via Flash sales only, which will be held on each Tuesday starting from 12 pm.
The Mi A1 just looks gorgeous and like most of the mid-range smartphones, this one also comes with a metal body.
The highlighting parts being the dual rear camera setup, IR blaster, and the back panel which will certainly remind of a flagship device; OnePlus 5, because the top area of the back panel looks quite similar to the back panel we have seen in the OnePlus 5.
The Mi A1, the name doesn’t go with Xiaomi smartphones series, doesn’t it? Well, that’s because the device is being powered by Google.
And, here’s the interesting part Google is powering this device to start-up their failed A1 plan which they had previously launched in 2015 with brands like Intex, Micromax, etc.
Now, the good thing is as the device is getting powered by Google, the Mi A1 is already running on the latest Android version v 7.1.1 (Nougat) and is likely to get the upcoming Android v 8.0 (Oreo) update very soon.
In addition to that, Xiaomi has also promised that the Mi A1 will also get the Android v9.0 update next year.
#Dual rear camera
Last year, we saw the evolution of fingerprint scanner on mid-range smartphones, this year we are witnessing the evolution of dual rear camera setups.
Now given the price range, the Mi A1 has multiple opponents if we give a look at the camera segment, we already have smartphones like Coolpad Cool1, Lenovo K8 Plus, Honor 6X, and the latest members are Coolpad Cool 6, and Moto G5S Plus.
The first lens gives the wide-angle view while the other lens gives you 2X zoom, furthermore, you also get portrait mode.
The camera interface is customized by Xiaomi, so you get some tweaks in the interface. The rear camera has a f/2.2 aperture, while the front 5-MP has a f/2.6 aperture.
Another feature which is worthy of mentioning is that with the dual-rear camera you will be able to shoot videos at 4K.
