HMD global has launched multiple budget smartphones this year, which includes the Nokia 6, Nokia 5, Nokia 3 and Nokia 3, the latest member is the Nokia 2.
The smartphone was launched globally which means the device will be available in India very soon. HMD introduced the Nokia 2 as a low-priced budget smartphone, however, due to some reasons they didn’t mention the pricing in India.
So, if you are someone who is interested in getting the new Nokia 2, then please do continue reading. In this post, we are going to mention the full specs, price and everything you need to know about the Nokia 2 before you get this device.
#1. Low storage and memory
These days for the price of 5K-7K, you can get smartphones that comes with 2-3 Gigs of RAM, and 16-32 Gigs of ROM, however, sadly with the Nokia 2, you get only 1 GB of RAM out of which around 400 MB of free space.
And out of 8 GB of internal memory, you get 4 GB of free ROM, so overall not only you not be run multiple apps at once but you’ll also face trouble while installing apps and storing files in your smartphone’s internal memory.
#2. Poor hardware
If there is an area where Nokia 2 sucks then that has to be the hardware, the device comes with an old Snapdragon 212 quad-core processor which was initially launched back in 2015.
As far as RAM is concerned, you get 1 GB of hardware and a 304 GPU, so overall, doing heavy multitasking on this device will be almost impossible, and gaming too will suck.
#3.Confirmed update to Android 8.0
Out of the box, the Nokia 2 runs on the Android v 7.1.1 (Nougat), which isn’t the latest version of the Android Nougat, nevertheless, HMD has confirmed that the Nokia 2 will be getting the upcoming Android v 8.0 (Oreo) update.
#4. Giant battery
The Nokia 2 is getting powered by a large 4100 mAh battery, which is non-removable. The good thing is with the 4100 mAh battery you will be able to get 1-2 days of battery life, the down part is that the charger which you will be getting isn’t a fast charger, so the device will take 2-3 hours to get fully charged.
#5. Build quality
The Nokia 2 contains a mix of metal and plastic, at the front and the back, you get a plastic body, whereas, the frame is made of metal, thereby making the device very lightweight and very easy for one-handed usage.
#6. Dedicated microSD slot
One of the good things about the Nokia 2 is that the device features a dedicated microSD card slot. So, you will be able to use 2 Nano SIM cards along with a microSD card simultaneously, for those who are planning to get this device, please do get a 16 GB or 32 GB of microSD card as the device doesn’t a good amount of internal memory.
Even though HMD Global has announced the price of the Nokia 2 in India, but the device is expected to be price around 6K to 7K, which for the specification it offers is kind of overpriced.
This is one of the few areas where the Nokia 2 shines, the display that you get is an LTPS LCD display, the color reproduction, contrast level seems quite up to the mark, even the viewing angle is also very good. So watching videos, reading content on this device will be a delight.
#9. Average camera
The Nokia 2 features an 8 MP rear-facing camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. With the rear camera, you’ll be able to take some good photos in good lighting conditions and shoot videos at HD quality, however, the front-camera is not that good and doesn’t let you shoot videos in HD, instead, it lets you take videos at 480p.

Overall, the Nokia 2 is not what you called a low-budget smartphone especially for the pricing of Rs 6K – 7K. The hardware could have been much better than you get particularly the chipset and the RAM. So basically, the Nokia 2 isn’t the low-budget smartphone that you want to spend your money on.
