Full specs, price and everything you need to know about the Galaxy S8 Note

It’s been almost a year ago when Samsung skipped the Galaxy S6 Note and came up with its successor i.e. the Galaxy S7 Note, but things didn’t go very well for Samsung as the battery of the S7 Note started exploding like a bomb, which later forced Samsung to stop the production of Galaxy S7 Note.

Fast forward at the start of 2017, the company made its comeback at the flagship segment with the Galaxy S8 at the start of this year, and a few hours ago, the company finally launched the much awaited Galaxy S8 Note.

So in this posts, we are going to talk about the Galaxy S8 Note price, full specs, and everything which you need to know about the new Galaxy S8 Note.

#Galaxy S8 Note release date in India and pricing:

So far, there hasn’t any confirmation as to when the device will be launched in India, but if you give a look at Amazon India’s website then you clearly see a Samsung Note banner appearing, which clearly indicates that the device will be coming sooner than we expect it to be, and this can also mean that the device will be exclusively available via Amazon.

As far as pricing is concerned, the Galaxy S8 Note has been priced between 930 to 960 US dollars which in INR stands roughly at Rs 59K to 62K, but this might be the price of the 64 GB variant, the price of the 128 GB variant may go bit higher.

In the US, the Galaxy S8 Note will hit the stores from September, and the company has also decided to give some discount benefits for the owners of the discontinued Galaxy S7 Note.

Furthermore, Samsung has also stated that those who will be pre-ordering the Galaxy S8 Note will be getting the 360 Gear camera and the infamous Samsung wireless charger for free of cost.

#New design with a bigger and taller display

Samsung has always taken the design from their Galaxy S series while making the Galaxy Note smartphones and with the Galaxy S8 Note you’ll find the same thing.

Like the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, the S8 Note also comes with an infinite display, the front looks very similar to the Galaxy S8, however, there have been some key changes made at the back.

Samsung has finally implemented the dual-camera setup at the rear, so instead of a single rear camera, now you get a dual-rear camera.

Both the cameras are 12 MP camera having an aperture of f/1.7. The dual camera setup is basically Samsung’s answer to Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus dual-camera. Samsung has also claimed that the dual-camera will be able to give brighter and sharper images in low-light conditions.

Unlike the iPhone 7 Plus which had only one camera having OIS, Samsung has used OIS in both the cameras, which gives the edge to the Galaxy Note 8 in comparison to the iPhone 7 Plus.

Another highlighting point about the Galaxy S8 Note is the bigger screen size, now you get a 6.3-inch Quad-HD display which in comparison to the 5.7-inch display of the Galaxy Note 7 is a big a big change.

Thereby making the device not so comfortable for one-handed usage anymore.

Moving on, the S8 Note will be available in four color variants; Gold, Black, White, and Grey.

 #Snapdragon 835 with 6 GB of RAM

Since the start of 2017, it was pretty much clear that the Snapdragon 835 will be the chipset for flagship smartphones, so the 835 chipset isn’t that surprising but 6 GB of RAM is because this is for the first time that a Samsung Galaxy Note series smartphones are coming with 6-GB of RAM.

And Samsung has already gone for the acquisition of Snapdragon 845 chipset, which will be used in the upcoming Galaxy S9 and S9 Note.

However like its predecessor, the variant that will be sold in India will be having the Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 octa-core processor, so there is no change on this part.

So, now the Galaxy S8 Note is not only just bigger but it’s also a multi tasking beast with a bigger display and more RAM.

#Water resistant S-Pen

The S-Pen has been one of the most loved and talked about features of the Galaxy Note series. In fact, this is one of the reasons which made the Galaxy Note series smartphones the best feature rich smartphones.

Well, the S-Pen has been part of the Galaxy Note series for a long period of time, every year, Samsung kept on bringing new tweaks and features in the S-pen, but this time along with features, they have also introduced the first ever water-resistant S-Pen, which is certainly is a big improvement.

#Smaller battery

Every smartphone has some pros and cons, and the Galaxy S8 Note is no exception, so far if you have been impressed by the new features of the Galaxy S8 Note, then prepare to be a bit disappointed because the new Galaxy S8 Note comes with a 3300 mAh battery.

Considering the fact that the S8 Note features a 6.3-inch display, Samsung could have used a bigger battery but with a 3300 mAh battery, you will hardly be able to get a full day of usage in case you are a heavy user.

#Improved Touch Wiz UI with more customization

Moving on, now let us talk about the software, Samsung’s Touch Wiz UI hasn’t been the best Android Skin, despite all of that in the Galaxy Note series the TouchWiz UI has always offered something new.

New features of the UI includes the live message, which allows you to write something colorful and add a sparkling effect to your text, which you can send quick messages to any of your friends, relatives, etc.

The edge display now comes with dual app shortcuts thereby giving you more options and space to manage and store your shortcuts which can later be opened all together using the split screen feature.

#Samsung DeX support

If you remember Microsoft’s continuum which they launched back in 2015 along with the Lumia 950, then you’ll certainly get familiar with Samsung DeX.

The device was launched a couple of months ago, but sadly with the S8 Note, you won’t be getting this device, in order to get it you’ll need to spend around 150 dollars from your pocket.

This basically gives you a desktop experience and currently, you can use this device with the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus and of course the newly launched Galaxy S8 Note.
