Huawei recently launched their new flagship device, which is new Honor 7. Last year, Huawei’ Honor 6 was one of the bestselling smartphones in the 20K segment, and Huawei wants to repeat the same thing this year with the Honor 7. Unlike the Honor 6, the Honor 7 comes with a full metal body, which gives the device a premium look, and it feels solid in hands. The Honor 7 also includes a fingerprint sensor placed at the back right below the camera, connectivity options like NFC,IR has also been added. The Honor 7 comes with a 5.2-inch HD IPS screen offering a resolution of (1080×1920 p). It also has nice viewing angles, the colors are crisp and vibrant, so if you love playing games or watching videos on your device, then you are going to enjoy the screen quality of the Honor 7.
2.Feature-rich fingerprint sensor
The fingerprint sensor placed at the back also has support for swipe gestures, for example, if you swipe down it will bring your notifications, on sliding up it will show the recent apps. The fingerprint is very accurate and it unlocks the device within the 0.5-0.6 seconds, which is faster than most of the flagship devices available in the market.
The Honor 7 is having a HiSilicon Kirin 935 octa-core processor, divided into two quad-cores, the first four cores are clocked at 2.2 GHz, and the second four cores are clocked at 1.5 GHz, the processor is being paired with 3 GB of RAM, so you can expect a smooth multi-tasking experience for this device. Although, there are sometimes when apps take quite a moment to open, but it mainly happens mainly due to some optimization issue of the custom UI.
The Honor 7 comes with a 20 MP rear facing camera along with a dual-tone LED flash, and the front it has a 8 MP camera, which also has a LED flash. When it comes to quality both the camera does a very good job, the pictures comes out with good amount details, accurate colors, sharpness in day lighting conditions, but, when you try to take pictures in low-lighting conditions, the pictures comes out to be bit noisy.
The Mali-T628 MP4 GPU does an excellent job; you can play games like Asphalt 8, NFS, Modern Combat 5, without any kind of laginess. Although the device gets warm after a certain amount of time, but it does not overheat, like most of the devices in this price segment.
Out of the box, the Honor 7 runs on Android v 5.0(Lollipop), and on top it, it runs on Huawei’s custom Emotion UI. The custom UI loaded with features, which makes navigating the device a lot easier, for example every time you swipe the menu, a background transition animation takes place, you can take a screenshot by just double tapping the screen with your knuckle, holding the volume down key will fire up the camera, which will take a picture within a flash, etc.
7.Poor sound quality
Although, there are two speaker grills placed at the bottom of the device, but only one grill houses the speaker, and the sound produced by the speaker is very low. If you are out in a public place, then you will not be able to hear any sound coming out of the speaker, even at full volume.
