Full specs, price and things to know about the Nokia 6
After selling the Lumia series to Microsoft, Nokia for a while went out of business, but by the end of 2015, several rumors were surfacing about the king of the Jungle making its entry back to the smartphone industry, although most didn’t know when Nokia will be re-entering the smartphone industry.
Last year, the speculations got higher as numerous leaked photos of new Nokia smartphones got leaked online, several of them had also some name, some of them being D1C, C6, etc., however, they were no confirmation about those smartphone getting launched.
Nevertheless, the good news is that Nokia has finally made its long-awaited return with a smartphone, which they have named as Nokia 6. The smartphone was launched several hours ago, so if you are a Nokia fan, and you are excited to know about this device details, then please continue reading this post, as we are going to list out the things to know about the Nokia 6.
First of all, this is huge, no one thought that Nokia will be making its return with the Nokia 6, many were expecting to see Nokia smartphones at this year’s MWC, however to the shock, the smartphone has already landed on the market.
So, given below are the price, full specs, and all the things to know about the Nokia 6:-
The device looks stunning, there is no doubt about that, the Nokia 6 comes with a metal uni-body design, along with what may seem 2.5 D Gorilla glass, giving the device an attractive look. The front design kind of reminds you of the Apple iPhone 7.
Beneath the display are the three capacitive button. At the back, there is a 16 MP rear facing camera, and at the bottom of it, there is a fingerprint sensor, overall, the device looks splendid.
We all know, the last Nokia smartphone was running on Windows, however, this time news sources confirmed that Nokia will not be coming up with their own OS, instead they will be going with Android, and that in fact was true, as the newly launched Nokia 6 seems to be running on the latest Android 7.0 (Nougat).
#3. Processor, GPU, RAM, and storage
This is another surprise from Nokia, as many were expecting a flagship, but after getting to know about the specification, the Nokia 6 seems rather a budget-oriented smartphone.
Under the hood, the Nokia 6 comes with a Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, which again is not something to woo about, moving ahead, the device also packs 4 GB of RAM, and 64 Gigs of onboard storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card.
Although, there was no official declaration about the GPU, but it will most certainly be the Adreno 505, the reason we are stating that is because we saw the same kind of setup in the Redmi 3S, and the Lenovo K6 Power.
The smartphone hasn’t got launched but people have already started arguing about its run on the market, one of the valid reason for that argument has to be its battery, which is a 3000 mAh non-removable battery. Considering the segment, Nokia could have at least used a 3500 to 4000 mAh battery, but sadly, that’s the reality.
#5. Fingerprint Sensor
Back in 2012, the concept of the fingerprint sensor was something, which several companies were trying to fit on their smartphones, however, now even in a $ 120 smartphone, you’ll see a fingerprint sensor. Hence, it was very obvious that Nokia will be coming up with a fingerprint sensor on their smartphone, and courtesy of the Nokia 6, we are finally seeing the glimpse of it. Thereby making the Nokia 6, the first Nokia-branded smartphone to feature a fingerprint sensor.
Another key aspect of the Nokia 6 is its display is a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display having a resolution of (1080 x 1920 p). Nevertheless, there is no confirmation about the protection being used, as the device is using a 2.5-D DCorning Glass, it is pretty likely that the Nokia 6 will be having a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 or 5 protection.
From what we got to hear in the launch event, it seems that the device will have some pretty good camera specs, and Nokia has a reputation for offering pretty good camera smartphones.
At the rear of the Nokia 6, you’ll be getting a 16 MP camera with a pixel size of 1 Micron, and a f/2.0 aperture, on paper it looks like the rear camera will give a good low-light performance.
Now, at the front, you’ll be getting an 8 MP shooter having the same f/2.0 aperture, along with 84-degree wide-angle lens, so, in terms of the camera, the Nokia 6 seems to be really good.
#6. Dual Speaker and Dolby Atmos
It looks like Nokia is going to make a big impact in the smartphone market. Another thing which you should know about the device is that not only the Nokia 6 is having dual speakers, which is placed at the front, but like Lenovo smartphones, the Nokia 6 is also having DOLBY ATMOS support, hence, the audio output will of the device will be pretty awesome.
#9. Pricing and Availability
What started to look like a Rs 10,000 – Rs 12,000 smartphone, the price seems to be on the higher side, the smartphone will cost about 1699 CYN, which in Indian rupees is around Rs. 16,750.
Now, the heart-breaking part, Nokia has only launched the smartphone for the Chinese smartphone market, therefore, you’ll not get to see the smartphone in Indian or in the American market. In China, the smartphone is exclusively available at JD.com starting from next month or so.
